The English Setter is a beautiful, elegant, and symmetrical gun dog, ideally an equal mix of endurance, athleticism, grace, and style. The coat is flat with light feathering of long length.
The various speckled coat colors when occurring in
English Setters are referred to as belton; valid combinations are white with black blecks (blue belton) or with orange flecks (orange belton) depending on the intensity of the color, they might be lemon belton or liver belton, or white with black and tan flecks (tricolour belton). They are part of the Setter family, which includes red Irish Setters and black Gordon Setters.
