The Borzoi is a large, quiet and sensitive dog. A swift hunter who could mistake your pet cat as game (unless socialized as a puppy, but then still beware). It will tolerate children but will not engage in any rough play. They enjoy their "space", and may seem aloof and regal. The Borzoi is graceful to watch and needs plenty of exercise. Always alert for game they need to be leashed or allowed to run in a fenced enclosure. They can adapt to apartment life if given sufficient exercise. They are easy to groom, but are seasonal heavy shedders.
